ESI upgraded the existing standby power system at this mission critical data center. Upgrades included the addition of three 1250-kW generators, an additional 3000A paralleling switchboard, an air-handling unit to serve the switch rooms, building automation system upgrades and modifications to the grounding system, fire alarm system and site security system.The company’s duties included writing detailed methods of procedure, coordinating equipment shutdowns and outages, performing and supervising the complete electrical installation, and working with the owner, construction manager and other trades to coordinate equipment start-up and commissioning activities.
