Our Commitment to Safety

Safety is not a priority at ESI. It is a core value.

Safety is part of everything we do at ESI. Before a single tool is picked up on any project, our team has planned for how to do the work safely. That commitment runs from the office to the field and shows up every day in how we train, how we plan, and how we hold each other accountable.

ESI’s Human Performance Improvement (HPI) program has changed the way we approach safety. Rather than simply reacting to incidents, HPI helps us understand the organizational and environmental factors that influence decisions in the field. When something happens, we look at what shaped that decision and why it made sense at the time, so we can prevent it from happening again.

Our safety culture is built on trust. We encourage every employee to speak up, stop work when something doesn’t feel right, and look out for the person working beside them. That culture doesn’t happen by accident. It is the result of consistent training, open communication, and leadership that treats safety as the foundation of everything we build.

VPP Star Mobile Workforce Contractor

ESI is a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Mobile Workforce contractor. The VPP Star designation is awarded by OSHA to worksites that demonstrate exemplary safety and health management programs. It is one of the highest safety recognitions available to contractors in the industry.

Earning and maintaining the VPP Star designation requires a sustained commitment to safety excellence across every level of the organization. ESI is proud to be among a select group of contractors who have met that standard.

Our Safety Record

ESI’s safety record reflects years of deliberate investment in our people, our processes, and our culture. The numbers below represent real outcomes on real projects across Ohio.

NECA Safety Excellence Award recipient for 10 or more consecutive years. Additional metrics including TRIR and safe work hours to be provided by client before launch.

ESI’s Service Department builds electrical preventive maintenance programs for commercial and industrial facilities. Regular maintenance catches overloaded components, failing equipment, and electrical faults before they cause outages, reducing repair costs and keeping your facility running at peak performance.

ESI’s infrared scanning service identifies overloaded components and electrical faults before they cause failures, allowing facility managers to address problems proactively rather than reactively.

Safety Programs and Training

ESI holds its workforce to rigorous training standards across all roles and all jobsites. Programs include OSHA 10 and 30, NFPA 70E (electrical safety), Arc Flash training, First Aid and CPR, and Fall Protection certification.

Safety training at ESI is ongoing, not one-time. Our teams participate in regular toolbox talks, site-specific safety orientations, and annual refresher training led by our dedicated safety professionals.
